Pipe Rehabilitation, Relining & RoboticsExpert pipe relining and rehabilitation are at the centrepoint of Drainaway’s operations. With Australia’s harsh climate, sewer and storm water drains can become defective and require remedial works on an ongoing basis. Drainaway provides a diverse toolkit of trenchless pipe rehabilitation solutions to suit a variety of situations. Some of these include patching, sprayable, UV relining and protective coatings and robotics.

Sprayed Pipe ReliningThe ultimate solution for revitalising ageing infrastructure through sealing, protecting, and reinforcing assets. Spray applied lining uses a patented technology coating system. This sees a vinyl ester resin sprayed in place, as a corrosion-resistant coating which is structurally independent. These materials can be applied by pumped hand spray, troweling or rolling. Drainaway utilises this solution extensively in large diameter pipes, storm water culverts, sewer drainage and access chambers, typically designed and engineered for multiple applications. This product protects against chemical corrosion in low/high pH environments where organic solvents, hypochlorite bleaches and caustic alkalis are present.

Cured in Place (CIPP)CIPP - A no-dig, cured-in-place pipe relining system for gravity applications, using special epoxy resin and felt to create a new pipe that is structurally equivalent of a brand-new pipe. CIPP Inversion lining - Allows Drainaway to carry out relining works in one continuous length, making this system perfect for pit-to-pit sewer pipe repairs and storm water drain lines, where pipe diameters can be relined from DN100-DN400. CIPP Pull in place - Allows Drainaway to stop or start anywhere within the piping network. A custom liner is manufactured on site to suit size and length of the pipe to be relined. Multiple bends can be achieved and diameters range from DN40-DN400.

UV Cured Pipe ReliningA modern, no-dig evolution of traditional pipe relining method using a train of ultraviolet lights throughout the curing process. Where conventional methods use heat with water and steam, UV cured pipe repair utilises ultraviolet light to cure the resin inside the liner. This is ideal for pipes from DN150-DN1600 in diameter and Gravity and Pressure applications. UV pipe relining delivers a proven, efficient method, that delivers a lining with structural integrity and extends an asset’s life by up to 100 years.

Pull in Place Pressure (PPP)The preferred solution for pipe pressure trunk mains and sensitive, difficult-to-access areas. Pull in place pipe (PPP) is a specialist technology for the trenchless rehabilitation, appealing predominantly to water utilities as a preferred method due to its ability to navigate bends of up to 45 degrees and at the same time realise installation lengths of over 3000m in one section. This is suitable for pipe diameters from DN100-DN1200.

RoboticsDrainaway operates robotic technology for pipe maintenance and rehabilitation including internal pipe cutting, grinding and CCTV. This robotic cutting and grinding technology is ideal for the removal of defects, concrete, scaling, and hardened calcium, or in the process of other rehabilitation works, such as relining.
